How does my favorite  Hot Fuzz clip relate to back surgery & saving puppies? Watch and read on…

Recently, I dropped of the face of the earth.

Let me rephrase that. I dropped off the face of Google-Earth.

After the epidural procedure that I blogged about last summer, I had a  Spinal Fusion surgery on my L5-S1 . Before & after recovery, I  stayed off the social sites! Well, I used my smartphone for occasional updates only! You didn’t think I could REALLY 100% unplug, did you?  This social media break was just what the doctor ordered since I had been reaching social media burn out anyway.

I enjoy volunteering my to time consult, teach and write about social media.  I had my share of negative social media encounters, which made me realize that I only want to do it for the greater good and even possibly as a non-profit.  I’ll find work that pays one way or another, but want to use my social media connections to use for things that really matter to me.

So, I’m unfollowing you if you are only talking about how to make more money or how to get more followers. I’m a speck on the face of Google Earth, but every real connection is meaningful. But what is the definition of a real connection? As I try to decide my place after being laid off a year and a half ago,  in this terrible economy, I wonder.
