Does it bother you when you see too much detailed personal banter between friends on Facebook? I’ve seen people post pics of their scars, surgery stitches, details about illnesses, declarations of undying love, even passive aggressive hatred.

There is a point when it’s just too much-  but then I think, if I was with the friend in person we would talk about these things, so it’s the same.  Some people whom I love don’t live nearby, so when I see their personal posts I don’t feel as if I am missing out on moments in time. We allow people who aren’t extremely close to us on Facebook, so those people are invited into some things they normally would not be privvy to. What we share openly  is changing due to the tech world, which is a good thing. Real people. Real love. Real problems.

.

Do you hate it when  people openly gush about love and corny personal stuff  on Facebook even though they are in the same house and can just say it there? LOL – Happy Fathers Day to my amazing husband & father Chris Mandart :)

Hey Cara, I know what you are saying about the personal stuff and sometimes it is too much. But I have to remind myself that not everyone uses fb the way I do. As I let more and more acquaintances on it, I became a bit less deeply personal because at first I strictly reserved it for just friends and family. Then it became a networking tool. But many of my friends still just use it the way I used to. So I have to remind myself of that.

Thanks Leigh, I am trying my best to use it as networking and personal. Even if I used it as personal only theres always a few things I think I’d be careful saying as it is online, personal or not. That being said, its really cool knowing that people can check me out through social media, see who I really am about (more or less) and decide if we are a good friend/business partner. I suppose we all leave off alot of negativity in our weekly lives but most people dont really want to hear it anyway.
