I’m on Twitter. (shocking, I know)
#BiggestLoser is on!
Notice that # sign I used? Thats a hashtag. (old school pound sign) I don’t know when they changed it to hashtag.) Suddenly I am updating someone I never knew before. She isn’t at home and is #desperate for #biggestloser updates. And then we’re talking back and forth. Then someone else chimes in. and then another.. now there’s about 7 of us in this conversation.
Problem is for the rest of you on this night you might find me annoying that I am sending so many tweets in one hour.
Join our conversation or find another # hashtag to connect with the world. Who says digital world is closing us off from each other?
Here’s a few of my favorite sites to find what the trending topics are and which hashtags to join in:
Twitter.com/tweetingtrends (easy enough)
Twitturly.com (busy but useful)
Trendistic.com (if you like graphics)
Search.twitter.com (shows a few top hashtags for the moment, I use this site all the time)
Monitter.com (great real time and you can customize)
Backtype.com (you can search what conversations are happening around certain posts or URL’s. Backtype highlights a few of today’s hot topics for you, too.)
